Amazon is making its dominance stronger in the gadget market by introducing two new Fire tablets and a Kindle-e reader with a built-in light system that that enables the user to read in dark. At an event in Santa Monica, Head Jeff Bezos unveiled the new devices claiming the company ‘loved to pioneer’. Needless to say the new Fire tablets unveiled by Amazon will take on the much-hyped iPad Mini expected to be released in the days to come.
While one of the Kindle devices has a 7-inch screen the other sports an 8.9 inch HD screen. The expensive 4G-Ready version will be available at a price of $499 while the humble Wi-Fi version for $299. The cheapest 7 inch Fire table will be available for $159. Amazon has also unveiled its new’ Paperwhite’ e-reader that claims a better battery life and sharper screen.
The new lighted screen on the e-reader will ensure that users will be able to read easily in the dark. Jeff Bezos said “We love going down alleys that turnout to be blind alleys- but every once in a while those alleys turn into broad avenues. People are going to love the light so much they’ll leave it on all the time”. Speaking about the new Fire tablet Bezos said” Kindle Fire HD is the world’s most advanced 7 inch tablet, with a stunning customized display, the fastest Wi-Fi, exclusive Dolby audio, powerful processor and graphics engine, 11 hours of battery life, and 16 GB of storage for all your HD content.
