AMD has launched its flagship graphics card, codenamed Antilles, the Radeon HD 6990. The Radeon HD 6990 is a dual GPU that will enable AMD to retain the world's fastest graphics card manufacturer title.

The HD 6990 is based on two HD 6970 cores slapped onto a single PCB. It’s similar to the HD 5970 which has two HD 5870s on the same board. It connects via a PLX bridge. The specis are double of a standard HD 6970.
3,072 shader units, 64 ROPs and 4GB of GDDR5 graphics memory make the Radeon HD 6990 the most powerful card. It is cooled by a vapor chamber heatsink and a central blower styled fan to beat the heat. When working overtime, the fan can be noisy as per earlier reviews.
