Hackers from Anonymous have now made news claiming to have attacked a major US military contractor, Booz Allen Hamilton and stolen over 90,000 email addresses and passwords and posted these details online. They got hold of encrypted versions of the email passwords of which 53,000 carried military ".mil" domains.
Anonymous’s Military Meltdown Monday saw the hackers wipe out four gigabytes of Booz Allen source code and in response said, “We infiltrated a server on their network that basically had no security measures in place." Booz Allen staff includes Michael McConnell , former director of NSA, and the company offers technological services, which includes cyber security consulting t US government agencies, and the American military.
Anonymous has been in the news previously for hacking Amazon , Bank of America , Mastercard and Visa, which had stopped services to WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange . The Booz Allen spokesperson did not comment, while an US Defence Department spokesman said they’re working with their fed partners on the matter, and Anonymous commented, "You have a security policy? We never noticed."
