Recently Apple was thunder bolted when more than 650,000 Mac users were affected by the ‘Flashback’ virus. Just when the tablet maker seemed to have recovered, trouble is brewing again. According to Kaspersky Lab, a provider of anti-virus software, a Trojan known as SabPub and also referred to formally in tech circles as Blackdoor.OSX.SabPab.a is on the move.
This Trojan spreads via Java and infects computers when users open messages in emails with links accompanying them. When the link is clicked it leads users to malware. Chief Security of Kaspersky Lab, Alex Gostev revealed the SabPub is a classic virus that gains access through backdoor to gain full access of the users system.
This malware has the capacity and potential to reach and infect far many computers than the Flashback virus. Earlier when the SabPub virus had appeared it was exploiting Microsoft’s Word vulnerability. The new version of SabPub virus makes its way through Java. Gostev has advised Mac users to update their system software immediately.
