HTC officials announced that they will not have to remove the data-tapping feature from its smartphones. The International Trade Commission (ITC) took a decision in favor of HTC in regard with the data-tapping feature. Earlier HTC was found guilty on infringing on two of 10 Apple patents.
To avoid a ban on sale of its products involved in patent disputes HTC had agreed to remove its data-tapping feature on smartphones. The data-tapping feature that enabled users to perform action on specific data by tapping was popular among users. However, it came under the scanner as Apple sued for a technology patent that they believed belonged to them.
HTC to prevent a ban on their products had agreed to remove the data tapping feature. Although the unique feature was in jeopardy earlier, it is not now. According HTC officials, the infringement of patents were not in regard with functionality but rather interface.
