FaceBook app that ensures children’s safety a hit with parents

Parents have been critical about FaceBook ever since its launch. Most parents complain about sexual predators and pedophiles seeking a window of opportunity on FaceBook. A new FaceBook App has changed parent perception in regard with this social networking site.

The SSP (Social Privacy Protector) app has multiple protection levels. An important feature in this app that has earned praise from parents is one that reviews a user’s friends list in a matter of seconds to determine the possibility of fake profiles.

The app also notifies users about applications on a user profile that invade privacy. This app has been developed by Michael Fire along with Professor Yuval Elovici. Two under graduate students Aviad Elishar and Dima Kagan assisted on developing this app.

This free software is available for download and can be used as an add-on for Firefox browsers. This one-click app is simple to use unlike Facebook’s complex privacy setting. With this app in place it’s safe to say, Parents finally have a Facebook moment to cherish.
