Trouble for Facebook has mounted steadily since its launch and it’s least likely the social networking site will have happy days in the future. In latest developments Facebook has been accused of being the front page of gambling, this after the social network launched a bingo gambling game that entices users to risk large amounts of money to win a jackpot of over 50,000 Pounds.
Although the game Bingo Friendzy will be available only for users in the UK where gaming laws are relaxed, users from different parts of the world have bashed this move by Facebook on social networks. Parents from various nations, a majority being from UK and US have been severe with their comments and opinions on wall posts and have accused the game of targeting children with cartoon graphics.
Both Gamesys, operators of Bingo Friendzy app, and Facebook insist app controls will prevent individuals under the age of 18 from accessing the game. However, majority of children ignore the age limit of having a Facebook profile by providing false information. A minimum stake of 10 Pounds is required on Bingo Friendzy, the gambling game that allows users to make real money. Facebook has admitted that more gambling games will soon make their way and this news has angered many users of the popular social networking site. With this gamble, Facebook may attract a significant number of new users, but experts point out the number of users switching from Facebook to other social networks will be higher.
