Garmin Corporation has tied up with Indian car maker Mahindra & Mahindra after Maruti Suzuki to supply its personal navigation devices (PND) the nuvi 40LM and nuvi 50LM for Indian vehicles. These new PND' s have a collection of maps which cover 4214 cities on a street level. apart from this there are about 7.3 million points of interest which can be used by users to pinpoint and rally at a particular location. nuvi 40LM and nuvi 50LM have a 4.3" and 5" display screen respectively and are retailing for a price of Rs. 8,450 and Rs. 9,990.
nuvi 40LM and 50LM are available pan India and one of their features include voice guidance in 10 different languages. Dialects include Punjabi,Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Oriya and Malayalam. These personal navigation devices will provide individuals with safer travelling options and improve the drive experience.
These devices will be provided with a free lifetime map support feature, maps of cities like Singapore and Malaysia and will be powered by NavTeq maps.
