Nokia's results for Q1 2013 have been released and though one my say that overall figures have taken a beating its sales for Q1 were impressive with over 5.6 million Nokia Lumia smartphones being sold. This is considering the fact that rivals Samsung. LG and Apple had devices like the Galaxy S3, Apple iPhone5 and LG Nexus 4 doing brisk rounds in the market.
majority of sales from its Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 launched during Q4 last year. WP8 models like 720, 620 and 520 were launched this year and have not created much of an impact where sales are concerned.
Nokia has amassed losses worth 150 million euros a factor which has left many shareholders in a fix and will prompt the CEO to take much needed steps to revive the Finnish mobile giant to its former glory. The turn around could be expected this year as new and innovative smartphones from the brand are expected to create quite a flurry of activity in markets as their launch date draws closer. Though results weren't as expected, the company was happy that it achieved underlying operating profitability for the third successive quarter in a row in a highly competitive market atmosphere.
