When Apple and Samsung locked horns with each other initially in regard with patent infringement never did one imagine it would turn out to be the way it is. Currently, both companies have filed lawsuit against the other in various countries.
In recent developments reports on Reuters suggest that Apple has demanded in excess of $2.75 Billion as compensation from its Korean rival Samsung for copying design and features of its smartphones and tablets. The compensation amount includes patent infringements, lost sales and lost profits in US.
As per documents exhibited in front of the jury in a lawsuit, Samsung has sold close to over 87 million devices from the second quarter of 2010 to March 2012. Over that two year period Samsung is said to have recorded $8.16 Billion in revenue which Apple claim has come from Samsung products that have infringed Apple patents. Witness for Apple, Accountant Terry Musika revealed that Samsung earned a healthy 35.5 percent gross profit margin that came between 2010 and 2012.
