Is Nokia doomed with the Windows phone?

There’s no mystery about Nokia smartphones taking a beating. Sales of smartphones by Finish giant Nokia have spiraled downwards drastically. The largest manufacturer of mobile phones has not seen happy days in 2011. Nokia ended the year with just 12.4 percent of the market share. Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android took Nokia’s Windows platform to the gallows. Tech Analysts and industry experts believe its end of game for Nokia in the smartphone segment.

Although a few analysts believe that Nokia can claw its way back in the smartphone segment, most unanimously agree that it will take more than a miracle for Nokia to established it’s prowess in the smartphone segment. Although The Lumia 710 and the Lumia 800 Windows smartphones have sold well in various countries in Asia, the same can’t be said about U.S. and Europe. The sales of Nokia’s Lumia in U.S. and Europe have been disgraceful. Critics and industry experts have blamed Nokia over the choices and decisions made in past years. Analysts reveal that with Microsoft’s Windows platform Nokia cannot be considered contender in the smartphone segment.
