Every regular computer user should be aware that their keyboard is a haven for germs. Grime, dust and food stains on a keyboard make the keyboard sticky, but there’s nothing much we can do about it. We can take a moist cloth to get rid of some amount of grime and dust on surfaces but dirt, grime, and stains between the keys remains.
You don’t have to worry about germs on your keyboard anymore. Computer peripheral manufacturer Logitech has launched a keyboard which you can hold under a tap of running water. If your thoughts lead you to believe this is a part from the upcoming Transformers movie, it’s not. The K310 keyboard which costs 35 Pounds can be submerged in 28 cm water.
Several studies and research carried out on keyboards reveal high percentage of germs in office and home keyboards. The new Logitech keyboard has drainage holes to ensure it dries up quickly after a wash. Senior Director of Keyboard and Mice, Logitech Sophie Le Guen said, "We’ve experienced that moment of distraction, followed by panic, when a cup of coffee or a soda spills all over your keyboard. Because life and its messes will happen, regardless of how careful you are, Logitech designed the Logitech Washable Keyboard K310 to look and function like new, even over time."
