Lately there has been a lot of speculation and rumor about Sony gearing up to launch an Android tablet which if true is a rather daring move considering the success it has had with previous attempts. Press images deemed to be the Sony’s upcoming tablet have emerged on various websites.
Although no name for the tablet has been revealed, the grapevine has it the slate will be christened Xperia Tablet. According to spec details on Sony fansite XperiaBlog.net the tablet will have a NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset, and run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 9.4 inch slate will have a pixel resolution of 1280x800. An 8 megapixel camera will be on the rear while the front will have a 1 megapixel camera good for video chat or video conferencing.
The body of the tablet is made from splash proof Aluminum and the device is 40% thinner than Tablet S. Although Sony hasn’t announced the official release of this tablet tech experts believe it will be unveiled at the IFA 2012 on August 31.
