Motorola has been struggling to hold firm ground in the US. The multinational telecommunications company has been trying to penetrate in the highly competitive cell phone market in the US but have not succeeded in overpowering its competition. Troubled days seem far from over for Motorola. Recently, certain smartphones of Motorola Mobility, a unit of Google were found infringing on a Microsoft patent.
As a result of the ruling made by International Trade Commission, import and sale of Motorola devices found to be infringing the Microsoft patent have been stopped. Although Motorola has not issued an official statement they are taking necessary steps to ensure the ban is lifted. In all 18 Motorola devices, a majority of which are handsets have been affected by the ban.
The devices affected by the ban are Droid 2 Global, Droid X2, Droid 2, Droid X, Droid Pro, Spice, Atrix, Cliq XT, Ciiq2, Cliq, Charm, Flipside, Flipout, Bravo, Backflip, Devour, Defy and Xoom tablet.
