Nissan announced that its New Star of India' digital campaign which was designed to promote its product Micra has been recognized by Limca Book of Records. As per the recognition, Nissan was the first brand to make use of similar brands of cars with a similar color and was the first to hold online auditions. For its ad campaign, Nissan made use of 29 blue colored Nissan Micra vehicles.
Selection process for the ad started in October 2011 and there were about 2,500 entries for the same. Out of these 2,500 entries, Nissan chose only 20 finalists who were selected as co-actors in the ad that featured Ranbir Kapoor who is the brand ambassador.
Many brands have been using online media, social networking sites and virtual platforms for put forth their idea across to individuals. Due to the hype surrounding the ad, Nissan's Facebook page had a fan following of 5.21 lakhs which grew to 5,63,400 fans and counting. Nissan has been showcasing innovative and superior designs in all of its products and it has reflected the same in its ad campaign for the Micra.
