Nokia officials were in an upbeat mood last week as they officially announced the availability of the new Lumia 800 in the Australia market. The eagerly anticipated smartphone will be available in stores all across Australia next month. Although Nokia expects good sales of its Lumia 800 smartphone in Australia, analysts are skeptical about a fruitful scenario for Nokia.
Most industry experts agree that it will take the Finnish company more than just sales and advertising strategies to penetrate in the Australian market. Although the high end Lumia 800 will be available with all major retailers, sales definitely won’t come easy. Tech analysts feel that because of the Windows platform used on the phone, convincing users that are already using the popular Android and iOS platforms will be an uphill task. The new Nokia smartphone will be sold by Australian retailers at $699. Only time will tell how Australian consumers react to the Lumia 800.
