Majority of Indian consumers prefer low priced feature packed smartphones over high end handsets. Finish manufacturer Nokia is well aware of demand for affordable handsets in India. The company has launched its Lumia 610 smartphone at a price of Rs 12,999.
This phone runs Windows 7.5 operating system and has 256MB RAM and 8 GB onboard storage. As expected the handset does not have a card slot for expandable memory. Lumia 510 is powered with an 800Mhz Arm Cortex-A5 CPU. This device has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. This phone has a 3.7 inch WVGA resolution LCD capacitive touchscreen (65K-color).
An interesting feature incorporated with this device is the active noise cancellation with dedicated mike. The smartphone also has a built in proximity sensor and accelerometer. Other features include Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR, WI-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, digital compass and SNS integration throughout the interface. Considering its pricing one would expect this handset to be popular with students.
