Just a day after a federal court ordered Apple and Samsung to discuss and settle a year long dispute in regard to intellectual property, Samsung didn’t waste much time. No, they didn’t hug Apple representatives and head for talks; instead the company sued Apple Inc again for infringements over patents in the U.S.
The additional suit was filed by the Korean smartphone maker in a District Court in North California on April 18. In the new suit filed Samsung claims Apple has violated 8 patents. According to the Galaxy smartphone maker, the new suit was in response to a complaint made by Apple in February.
Both companies are at loggerheads and have been suing each other over patents used in smartphones and tablets. Although both companies have agreed upon court order to take part in a settlement conference that helps calm the storm and reach a mutual agreement, industry experts believe talks and discussions will be futile.
