There’s good news for Microsoft Windows users. The company has announced that upgrade for Windows 8 Pro will be available at just Rs 2,190 when released this year. Yes, it may seem hard to believe the low price structure considering an upgrade for Windows 7 cost $199 and Windows 7 Home Premium $120.
Windows Pro 8 will be available for digital download during the promotional period starting 13 January at $ 39.99. With this move Microsoft will definitely earn accolades from its loyal supporters. Not only that, the low price of the operating system is expected to entice enthusiasts of rival companies.
Apple had gone the distance by reducing its upgrade cost for Mac OS X Lion when released in 2011 pricing it at $ 29.99. In 2012 Apple further reduced its upgrade pricing, this time for Mac OS X Mountain Lion available at just $ 19.90. Now with Microsoft lowering its pricing structure on upgrades, we wonder if prices in future reach rock bottom.
