According to reports on GSMArena UK, Samsung may have quietly cancelled their Galaxy III 64 GB smartphone. The report revealed UK retail giant Expansys had cancelled pre-orders of the 64 GB version.
The seller has mailed customers that in regard with the issue. Customers that had pre-ordered the smartphone got a mail stating their order could not be processed as Samsung has taken a decision not to release the 64 GB unit.
Samsung has not issued an official statement in regard with the smartphone being scrapped, so there’s a possibility the Korean company releases the 64 GB version in select markets in the near future.
However, it will not come as a surprise if Samsung does decide to scrap the smartphone considering the device offers microSD card expansion up to 64GB. Not many users around the world would want to have 128GB storage on their smartphone. Samsung had announced the release of this smartphone on May 4 in London.
Update: Samsung has officially confirmed the launch of SIII 64 GB.
