Regardless of the fact that many Droid users do not swear by the song ‘Born Under a Bad Sign’, they sure do have bad news in their backyard. Sony had earlier announced that its 2011 lineup of phones will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, the company has officially announced that Xperia Mini Pro and Xperia Arc S will not be getting Jelly Bean, as Google announced earlier the new version of its Android mobile OS.
Although Product Manager, Sony Mobile, UK, John Cooper mentioned only two models from Sony’s 2011 lineup, all other models from this year are equipped with the same chipset which indicates the entire lineup will have to do without Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. John Cooper revealed that the company is reviewing which 2012 Sony handsets will receive the Jelly Bean update and that decision in this regard will be announced on Facebook.
For LG users the news is an even more painful. After announcing that the Jelly Bean update would be available in the second or third quarter this year, LG has recently revealed that there will be no Ice Cream Sandwich update for Optimus Black and LG Optimus 2X.
