Sony has announced the Xperia SL successor to its Xperia S series. Many may not be happy with what Sony has to offer on this smartphone because most of the features remain invariably the same as on Xperia S. The only differential factor that sets Xperia SL from its previous offering is the inclusion of a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 dual core processor and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-Out of the Box.
Xperia SL has a 4.3 inch shatter proof/scratch resistant TFT capacitive touch screen with a pixel resolution of 1280 x 720. The device has a powerful 12.1 megapixel camera with auto focus feature and pulsed LED flash. This device is capable of Full HD-1080p video recording. There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera in front that facilitates video chat.
The device has HDMI-Out, Micro-USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and Assisted GPS. This handset weighs 144 grams and is 10.6mm thick. When charged fully the battery is good for 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of video and 33 hours of music. Sony will be announcing pricing details and the official launch date of Xperia SL in the days to come.
